At Roadway, our Outreach and Volunteer Support Team is on the ground every week, reaching into communities across the Twin Cities. We meet people where they are—physically, emotionally, and practically. Our goal is not just to connect people to housing, but to build trust, deliver resources, and walk alongside them in the journey toward stability and independence.

Where We Go

Every week, we visit neighborhoods throughout:

Ramsey County
Hennepin County
Dakota, Washington, Anoka, Carver, and Scott counties

You’ll find us at:

Public libraries
Community centers
Shelters and encampments
Local events and block parties
Parks and transit hubs

Who We Serve

Our outreach is for anyone who needs it—including:

People experiencing homelessness or at risk of losing housing
Adults and youth with mental health or substance use challenges
Individuals with disabilities
Families in crisis
Recently incarcerated or hospitalized individuals
Anyone seeking stability, housing, or connection

What We Do

We offer compassionate, hands-on support including:

Housing Stabilization Services enrollment
Shelter and transitional housing referrals
Assistance with housing searches and applications

Resume support and job hunting
Referrals to employment programs and job fairs

Referrals to mental health and recovery programs
Support navigating treatment options
Free Narcan and overdose response training

Help accessing SNAP, MA, SSI/SSDI, and more
Basic case management and advocacy

Referrals to food shelves and meal programs
Distribution of gas and grocery gift cards, hygiene kits, and seasonal clothing

Community Partnerships

We collaborate with:

Health clinics and mobile care teams
Shelter networks and housing providers
Schools, libraries, and youth programs

Cultural, faith-based, and grassroots organizations

Helping at community events and tabling locations
Handing out food, hygiene kits, and Narcan
Organizing donations and resources
Assisting with transportation and setup
Supporting office tasks and outreach prep
